Chanel keeps chugging along with its Bleu de Chanel line of perfumes for men. The original EDT, has been immensely popular for many years now, and show no signs of slowing down. The most recent release has been, BdC Parfum, which gives the formula a newer take. The question is, which smells better? EDT vs. Parfum? Parfum has the best longevity than all 3, yet the least projection and sillage; nonetheless, the most mature. Parfum BY FAR. Has a much smoother drydown with noticeable sandalwood.

Whereas the EDT is really bold with the grapefruit and ginger at the top, that's why I chose the EDP as it is a richer and more intense version of the EDT. Definitely don't expect the EDP to be a longer lasting version of the EDT. Edt by far. Experimented with both and Edt performed much better everytime. Parfum. Spraying the EDP and Parfum on each hand, the difference for the first 10 mins or so is negligible. However after a while the differences start to emerge. The “blue” aquatic freshness of the EDP is gone, and instead a deep, darker lavender emanates from the Parfum. It has added sandalwood which makes it more woody. I actually prefer the EDT. To me, EDT and EDP smell completely different. I’d say the EDT is a bit lighter and more citrus leaning whereas the EDP is more incense leaning and heavier or thicker. I bought the EDP first because I heard most people prefer that but after smelling the EDT I actually prefer the EDT now.

More fresh, projects like a beast, nice balanced drydown where you can smell both the fresh as well as woody notes. Lasted longer and was more recognisable than EDP. Parfum! Thanks! I own both the EDT (original formulation) and the Parfum. While the EDT projects more, the Parfum lasts much longer. I personally prefer the Parfum by a wide margin. The woody base makes it that much better. I do consider myself a collector, but I tend to only get one version of a fragrance.
EDP for sure. I prefer the smell of the EDP but the performance of the EDT is objectively better so if that’s a thing for you keep that in mind. The EDT is also fresher for summertime. I generally think of the line as EDT for warm days, EDP . The EDP forgoes a lot of the citrus. And the Parfum has even less. My two favorites are the EDP and parfum. I like the EDT on hot days though. EDIT: My bottles look like this. EDT white letters, just says Bleu de Chanel, the EDP states EDP in all in white letters, and the Parfum is the one with gold lettering and cap accents and says Parfum.
